Ensuring 100% Airtightness in Ventilation Roof terminals

Our Research & Development department at Ubbink has designed an innovative ventilation roof duct that minimises insulation loss and simplifies installation for fitters. The result is a newly insulated roof duct with a key improvement: it no longer follows the traditional vertical path but instead passes at a right angle through the sloping roof. This new design significantly reduces insulation loss while also being easier to install. With our insulated roof duct, you gain improved energy efficiency and installation ease, addressing two critical challenges at once!

Hinge Point Innovation in Ventilation Roof Ducts

The Problem:

Until recently, installing a ventilation roof duct on a sloped roof inevitably led to insulation loss. This was because the duct traditionally had to pass vertically through the roof, requiring installers to make an oval cut-out to fit the pipe properly. This process was not only cumbersome but also created unnecessary empty spaces around the duct. These gaps allowed warm air to escape from the inside or let cold air seep in from the outside—not an ideal scenario!

The Solution:

Enter the new insulated roof duct with a clever design innovation: Ventus. Instead of the conventional vertical installation, this duct passes through the roof at a right angle. To ensure the top cover remains vertical, a hinge point is incorporated into the intermediate installation part. This allows you to level the top cover and secure it with just one screw. The result is a much better-fitting airtight duct sleeve on the inside, ensuring a seamless and 100% airtight finish. This innovative approach solves the insulation problem and makes installation easier and more efficient for installers.

Preserving Your Roof’s Insulation Value

Our innovative design ensures the maximum preservation of your roof’s insulation value. With this product, we effectively address the growing importance of airtight construction. As energy performance requirements become more stringent, including regulations like, airtight construction is a critical factor.

Universally Applicable

This new roof duct is available in four universal versions: two designed for pitched roofs and two for flat roofs. It’s compatible with ventilation ducts of 150, 160, 180, and 200 mm, and can be universally applied to all heat recovery ventilation (HRV) units and air heat pumps.

Quick and Smart Installation
