Yes, however the amount you can bend it is restricted to maintain a smooth radius or curve

It depends on where it is located, the regulations state that all duct if installed in unheated areas IE a loft,  must be insulated, the insulation value must be 0.04w/mk or lower or by using an insulated wrap the semi rigid duct can have an insulation layer around it of 25mm .

If you install semi rigid duct elsewhere outside of a cold area it does not require insulating.

Good quality ducting like our Air Excellence does not need any other sealants, any ducting with ATC 2 rating is airtight already.

Back in the early 2000`s it was common to use tape to join ducts along with a non-hardening sealant , this is no longer the favoured option, ducting manufacturers like Ubbink manufacture ducting connections that will provide an airtight seal without using tape or sealant.

The size of the ducting is proportionate to the amount of air required for example, if the house/property demands a high volume of air being supplied and extracted then this may require larger ducting or even double duct runs., all of this is calculated at the design stage .
In a nutshell , the design determines the air volumes, it the air volumes are high you need larger ducting , if the air volumes are low you can use smaller ducting.
 

Semi rigid ducting should be supported every 500 mm , the ducting should not sag as condensation can form in any dips or traoughs and cause problems.

Yes, however the ability to bend it too far is restricted, air does not like to go around corners so limiting the amount of flexibility is key .

Yes this product is suitable for both new build and retro fit due to the unique starter unit which can be installed before or after the gutter installed.

To meet BS5524, use the batten bracket and mechanically fix the ambi hand into the batten bracket for a secure and compliant fix.

Yes both have been independently tested by BRE and meet the British Standards BS5250 and BS5534

It truly covers 6m lengths even when used with deep profiled tiles and this has been tested by the BRE. 

The Ubbink heat pump kit supplies all the components to connect your heat pump to the external environemnt: 1M length ducts, connectors, bends and airtight seals 

Heat pumps need ductwork to effectively distribute the heated or cooled air via extract and supply sources to the outdoor environment. We also supply the components individually in our Aerfoam range.

To allow solar cables to go pass through the roof area and connect inside the house, keeping the roof envelope watertight

We provide an installation insruction for our OFT's, we are often asked  for extra advice on the EPDM roof covering;  it should simply adhere the flashing with rubber glue (or similar) also use more EPDM material to flash over, up to the stainless steel section of the collar to ensure fully watertight but not mandatory

We can deliver to sites, but there needs to be clear access to the site with room to fit large vehciles, if there is a restriction there may be additional charges apllied to the order. We will also require a contact name and number for the site delivery.

Reducing the size of ducting has many implications in air velocity and air resistance , this can create lots of issues with the performance of your unit.

MVHR units will perform as intended, with a well designed and installed ducting system, if the ducting system is not designed and installed well it will cause long lasting problems.

No, an MVHR system will extract from all wet rooms so no need for Bathroom fans or Kitchen fans .
 

No, the MVHR unit is providing fresh air so you don’t have a need for added ventilation.
 

Yes, MVHR will not replace wet heating in your home however , it will reduce the demand on the heating system by recovering over 90% of the outgoing heat.

Yes occasionally ducting needs to be cleaned, especially if there has been a moisture build up as this can form mold spores and will these will need to be removed.

This is a very important point for our theme of “our solutions”. It is important that we look at sustainability and circularity and make informed decisions, particularly during our design process. We have a clear process for this. Right from the start, when drawing up the specifications of a new product, we ask questions about sustainability and circularity. For example, in what parts can we use recycled materials. Or where can we source the parts that we do not produce ourselves? And whether the proposed supplier meets our purchasing conditions. We will start using so-called Life Cycle Assessments as part of our design process in 2024. This means we will analyse the environmental impact of new products during the design phase. And if we see opportunities to reduce that impact, we will do so in advance rather than afterwards.

We started a baseline measurement in 2023, taking the year 2022 as a reference. We collect data again every year and compare it with the data from 2022, our reference year. In the meantime, we determine the goals we wish to achieve for important, measurable components: our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). As a result we can measure and communicate our progress every year.

Ubiform + and Ubiflex Finio are self adhesive products. The standard range comes with ancillary products to adhere the flashing to the roof covering such as tigh tack sealant, please see fitting instrcutions for further details.

Yes! Due to being lightweight and it can be installed in full rolls length this range is quick and easy, saving time on site and projects.

Ubiflex Finio due its smoother finish and colour, but some installers prefer Ubiflex Standard with the granular finish to deter lead theft further as looks less like traditionla lead.

Non lead flashings are safer for the installer, due to being less toxic with lead chemicals and up to 80% lighter in weight! The ranges are more sustainable and can be recycled. Also for the home owner there is no chance of lead theft as no resale value.

Free Vent Area is the total unobstructed area within a vent opening which air can freely flow. Having a larger free vent area means less vents are needed to meet the local legislation saving cost to your project and install time. 

The British Standard BS5250:2021 

A vent will allow natural ventilation into the roof void to meet BS5250 standards maitaing a healthy cold roof void. Terminals and connected to ducting offering supply or extract to an mechancial fan or system. There will be different requirements depending on the size of the roof and the output of the fan being terminated.
